Bedroom painting themes?
Question:I'm painting my bedroom a purple color and i want a midnight purple sky theme for my room. I like the painting starry nights and i want my room to correspond with the painting. Any ideas on how to makes this happen?
Answers:
Paint stars to match those in Van Gogh's painting on your ceiling, or better yet, can you string white lights along the ceiling to mimic stars? Keep the bedspread dark as well to creat the illusion of a dark night. The curves in the painting create a whimsical flow so complement your bed with pillows of a lighter shade and swirls of light colors on them.
If you can afford it, check out this website: http://www.muralsyourway.com/myw4-design...
there you'll find a wall size mural of the painting. Pacing it on one wall in the room, you can move the colors out from that starting point. It doesn't have to be the size of an entire wall either.
Add dark blue to the purple paint it comes out midnight purple. Stencil on some silver stars.
i wish you would have posted the picture ,that would of been helpful, shades of purple/lavender and shades of blues all mix well together, metallic silver for stars...satin bedding/window treatments, and throw pillows in these shades may bring it all together, using mirrors helps reflect light and sparkle, mother of pearl glitter and paint on mirror frames, tight woven netting fabric can be used to drape over windows and above mirror,or over bed to create a soft look can sew on seed beads/or sequins to add sparkle, lamp shades can be painted to match and glue beads and jewels ,have fun...
