Question:looking to re grind and polish concrete floors in my house in kerry
Answers:
I have used a high lime content/ sacrete mixture as a top coating, This makes it very very hard and semi glossy, Then added a good sealer and It came out really well and after polishing it? it was almost but not quite as bright as marble... I would consult a good local building supply company for specific details and method in your particular case...Cheers~
seal it, try mabye concrete sealer with shine,or tile sealer
My uncle is a builder and he says you cannot polish a concrete floor as you can with Terazzo - which an italian thing. but definately not concrete
concrete floors do not polish up like granite or marble
as someone else said, trezza floors are polished, not concrete. well concrete floors can be, but it isnt very pretty., i live in co.antrim and dont know anyone who does this type of work. probably in england you could get someone. or try your local hire centre for a polisher which takes the emery stone type discs and try it yourself. if you try it yourself keep it very wet to stop dust rising.
concrete floor is made at the beginning before it drys,is to late, for know,if you bring a man with grinder it going to cost a lot of moneys and is not going to be nice
why the hell would you want to polish a concrete floor??? itll be a heat absorber and all your heating in the room would be a waste of time and money!!
Hi
If you want a high polish you would need to use a topping coat of some nature.
When concrete is poured it has to be worked to obtain a hi finish or power float finish.
Depending on the age of your floor it would probably be quite a loose mix if old and would therefore need some thing to smooth it over with possibly using a product by Fosroc may help. can be pricey though.
