How much to cut granite work tops ??
Question:i am thinking of buying some granite work tops, i would need to get them cut to size and maybe a bevelled edge, any ideas how much this would cost? also i have been told that they scratch very easily, is this true?

You may be able to get them cut to size by the manufacturer, the only problem is that worktops are generally sold in either 2,3 or 4 metre lengths so you may end up having more than you need and still have to pay for it. Definitely shop around, I know B&Q used to sell two 2 metre worktops for around £1000, they were speacil order only though.
Its the same saw you would use to cut rebar, your hardware store would know, I forgot the name of it. Its not a metal saw, is more like a disk that looks like hard sand paper with stripes on it, they look like tit tac toe boxes. Yes they scratch, but as long as you dont use it as a cutting board you should be safe.
