How can I revamp my old pine furniture which has numerous watermarks on it?

Question:I have tried the old ironing trick & it doesn't work!

Answers:
I am not very knowledgeable in DIY. however I think you need to sand and re-varnish it. I like it also when its sanded and then painted, cream or duck egg blue with big chunky dark wooden handles.

sand it down and re stain it
You can buy a tin of wax - sometimes you can get it from furniture stores that sell pine.

I had the same problem and all my pine looked washed out.. I now use baby oil, yes thats right i rub it on with a cloth and it brings the wood up again... wood dries out...

may no totaly cover water marks but will make a massive differance..
good luck
You do need to sand it. However, with watermarks, they are very hard to sand completely off. They go down in the surface quite far. If you sand too much in one area, you could create a dip in the piece. You'd probably be better off sanding, then painting. You won't need to get the watermarks off for painting. They will show up horribly with new stain.
The pine era is over, paint it, 2 coats undercoat, rub-down with "wet & dry " paper, 1 or 2 coats Dulux silk finish.
