House conversion?

Question:Anyone ( preferably a builder etc) know if planning permission is required to convert an integral domestic garage to an extra room?

Answers:
You need building regs. You need to apply to your local council so get in touch with them for the necessary paperwork. They'll want to see the foundations for the wall part you'll build up and the opening part of the window has to be a certain width (fire regs) so get the right size made.

Pretty sure no planning permission required (best check with the council anyways) but building regulation approval should be sought to ensure the works meet minimum requirements for the conversion.
Speak to your local council
normally no ..but you must comply with building regs ..if the walls are single skin or a 9inch wall they must be upgraded..the floor should be insulated and raised all so insulate ceilings etc ..if you don't do it right and involve building control you will struggle to sell it later
