What are some good Ideas for a tweens room.?
Question:The room is small and she is going to middle school and her room is plain. And the house is rented so we can't paint the walls or anything. Please help we really need ideas.
Answers:
Since you can't paint, bring in punches of color with bedding, curtains, accent rugs, throw pillows, organizational things, and accessories.
First things first.. Bedding: Pick something with a couple bright, fun colors. You can also bring in an accent color with throw pillows and blankets.
Curtains: Buy a couple solid curtain panels in one of the colors from the bedding.
Rugs: There are some cute shaped accent rugs in stores.. Target has some really fun ones for kids/teens. Put one by the bed so she'll have something soft to step onto when she's getting out of bed in the morning.
Organization: There are also some really colorful, cool plastic bins and organizers for kids/teens. One of the cheapest and easiest ways to organize is to buy colorful plastic milk crates and turn them on their sides, stacking them to create a little shelving unit- perfect for displaying stuffed animals and other treasures.
Last but not least.. Accessories: if you're allowed to hang pictures, buy some colorful prints and frames and hang them. Also, if you're allowed to, hang a couple shelves to display small treasures. If you're not allowed to do those, as someone else suggested, Wallies are fun themed wall stickers that peel off easily and don't do anything to harm the paint job. You could also bring in more color with floor cushion, comfy chairs, etc.
Hope this helps.. Just have fun with it! :)
my room is brightly decorated. but since u cant do that, make sure it is organized! ORGANIZATION makes everything! everytime i see an organized room, it stands out and just pops! it makes u look good:) so buy very colorful boxes and baskets and be organized!
You could bring in some color, and her personality, with her bedding and curtains. Look at Target, JC Penney, any home decor discount stores in your area; even Linens 'n Things and Bed, Bath and Beyond (if you get a coupon).
Accessories whether in picture frames, a lamp, pillows, etc., will help. Can you hang things on the wall?
