I live in a 1500 sq. ft. house. How much do you think it would cost to tear the whole thing down and remodel?

Question:It's a fixer upper. I want to start new. I live in California by the way.

Answers:
The frame should still be okay... just knock down the walls to the shell and start from there. Depending on where you live will change the price of how much it will cost you. Measure your footage and take it to your home-improvement store.. they should be able to give you some idea. I'm guessing you could do it under $50,000.00.

Call a builder to ask.
well u should watch property ladder on tlc to get great ideas! it would be at least $50,000, if not more.
If the structure of the house is in good shape, leave it alone, just remodel. In most cases where I live in PA its about $9-$12 a square foot for materials, not including the labor.

If the structrure of the house is compromised and demolition is the only option, call your local fire department and see if they can use it for a training excersize. Its cheap, easy, and they do most of the work.
