When building a home, at what stage in the building process does the flooring go on?

Question:Does it go on before the walls go up? Do the kitchen and bath cabinets normally rest on the finished flooring? How about the staircase?

Answers:
The flooring normally goes in after the painting is finished and the cabinets are installed. In most cases, the staircase is finished at the same time as the flooring. Often it is installed and left unfinished until the floors go in.

depending on the type of floor covering, it usually is about the last thing to be done. due to leveling requirements cabinets are usually installed before flooring.
Near the end of construction. Cabinets go in before the floor appliances after. Staircase rests on the subfloor.
