Do you really need a metal bed frame?

Question:It makes my bed feel all weird and i dont want it but my friend told me my boxspring would collapse if i didnt have it.

Answers:
As long as the box spring is supported on its perimeter it will not collapse. You could set it straight on the floor if you like.

No. I hate metal bed frames to as they squeak. You can replace this with a platform bed which is dirt cheap by the way. You can get them for under 60$. And you can still use a headboard if you want to. or not. Here is a picture of what I'm talking about:
