How to decorate my room ancient egyptian style?
Question:Im going for a dim sexual atmosphere.

We did a room in Egyptian Style. I used a Orange / Yellow Color Wash on the walls. I used a very light gold fabric on the windows, just draped over the curtain rod, not sewn. Then I used a wine color of the same light fabric as a valance, again, just draped over the rod. I bought an inexpensive rag rug at Sam's club that had muted greens, golds, wines, yellows and orange. The weave looked like woven bamboo shoots. I made a runner for a the chest of drawers that had the greens to tie in the rug. I attached gold tassles on each corner. I made a bed spread out of gold colored faux suede. The chest of drawers was the best. We crackle finished the wood, then we painted it with Sherwin Williams Latex Translucent Metallic Technique Finish/Gold. It looked like a big gold sarcophegus We used black knobs. I found an Egyptian themed border at the Hobby Lobby.Table legs or banisters found at Lowes, with a whole bored through the inside, make great torches for lamps if you can find the right lighting. Everything else is gravy, we found a framed picture of King Tut. There are lots of things to hang on walls or Knick-Knacks to place. I think if I were going with a more adult theme, I would hang fabric from the ceiling above my bed, like a mosquito net, and install a ceiling fan with blades that looked like palms. The fabric on the windows and the mosquito net should be light enough to billow gently when the ceiling fan is on low.

Do I have some Ideas for you. Dark, Rich, Blue, Red, and Gold Silky fabrics and lots of tasseled pillows is the way to go with this. Small but elegant floating fragrant candles at varying heights throughout the room will dim the room to any likeness. If you have the space add a small corner or tabletop waterfall and tropical plants. Add a few long grass fans by doorway for decoration and you and your love will certainly enjoy the heart of your palace. Be safe and have lots of fun.
yellow/cream walls. Lots of gold. Use earthy colours. Paint a huge eye of horis on one wall - for luck. You could make your room look like a tomb. Paint large stones. Get some books for ideas.
