I would love to make my room into an "old attic" theme... any suggestions?
Question:You know the type of attic that has all of these awesome antiques, the type you see in movies? I would love that have that kind of a bedroom theme. Any ideas?

My suggestion would be to find a picture in a magazine that you would want your room to look like. If your budget is big then go shopping to find similar things in the photo. If your budget is small go to some thrift stores or antique shops. You never know what you might find - Good luck
Go to yard sales/flea markets and buy an old dresser, night stand and if possible one of those make up areas with a bench. Look for old brass lamps. Depending on your taste your bed sheets could be old Victorian roses. For the dresser I would place old doilies on it with your personal items. You can actually buy the doilies at the $ store. If you have any old dolls I would place them around the room. If you have room get an old rocker and place in the corner of the bedroom. For the windows I would buy vintage lace or any lace would do.
You cannot go wrong at yard sales
Paint the room kind of a drab taupe color, use old furniture (purchased at a garage sale. Not really antique but from the the1940's or so), use a trunk or two. old suitcases stacked for a nightstand.then use a piece of glass on top, lace curtains and glassware. No flowers, no plants, and lots of photos.
Now, if you want an old attic theme go to the tref shop this is a cheap way to add the old fashions to your room. Here is some things that may be add. Lamps, rugs, dark covers, bed that is made out of wood, and antiques. Good luck.
After you fill the room with old junk found in the garbage empty the vacuum bag all over. Layers of dust tend to add that "old attic" charm. A few bare lightbulbs with complete the look.
