Color for baseboards and trim?
Question:How would it look if I painted my baseboards and trim a darker color than the walls?
Answers:
I've done several rooms like this and it looks great!
Stay in the same tones tho..on the same swatch as the color of your walls, pick a shade or two darker.
It wouldn't look good at all. You should keep them white, its better contrast. Dark makes your house look dull and darker on baseboards and trim.
It would accent the color of the walls and ceiling. You should use that color as an accent color throughout the room, as well. Use it in the furniture, like in pillows and blankets and such.
I think it would look great in a 'classical' styled house, not so good in a 'modern' style house. Old houses usually had light colors on the walls and dark stained wood trim.
Absolutely fabulous! Use the color that appeals to you to make this house your home.
Try and find other complimentary items in a similar color to give it a little more punch...candles, lampshades, etc. If you can find a few decorator items you should be able to find some fabric and have a couple of throw pillows made anyway.
Hope this helps...and enjoy the new look!
i think it would great everyone has a different taste i think it is your home and if that is what you like go for it also find other items of decor to accent the color some people will think I'm crazy but i like the primitive look i have got some aw some crown molding for my bedroom That i am spray painting it flat black and then i am going to distress it my accent wall is going to be deep rust and th others are deep gold what do you think about this
