My Hus boat is too long to fit in our garage. We are building another one now, but how can I cover the?
Question:opening of the garage and the boat, since I can't lower door. Leaving the boat outside is not an option, we tried it. It made a HUGE mess to clean up with all the pollen and chipmunks and birds. I must put something over the opening because rain runs down the hull and floods the garage and my laundry room. Help! Right now we have an ugly blue tarp over the opening and I think it looks terrible. The new garage will probably not be done for months. My Hus says "Who Cares?", but I'm worried about what the new neighbors think. What should I do?
Answers:
I learned a long time ago, my neighbors don't pay my rent, so I don't care what they think, and its only for a while and not a life time. that it will be showing--don't you have more to worry about, than that?
store the boat at a sotrage facility
tarp is only option till new garage is built
hmmm id get something like uh those one storage things they advertise on tv id get one of those
Bill should have told you it does require a cover. but he knew you would come back to ask more questions. that bill sure is a smart seller.
they sell boat covers that will keep your boat clean parked outside , kinda pricy but may be worth it.
you can go to a place where you bought the boat or a place they sell boats and they should be able to get one
Unfortunately, some problems have no perfect solution, just an either/or. If you can afford it, a boat cover would be the best option since they look nice and protect the boat. Since the rain would still hit the boat from the front and run into your laundry room, consider gutters over the front opening to catch and divert the water to another area (if that's even an option with the new garage). Other than that, I think you may be stuck. Good luck.
I don't know the technical name for it but if you go to your local boat supply store, they should sell or know where you can have done a winterizing kit. It's like shrink wrap that they wrap the boat with and it conforms to the shape of the boat. Its water proof and if the local animals should do their duties on it, a hose will spray if off. This is not something you can do. I believe they use some sort of heat to shrink the protective cover around the boat. Its a one time deal, so you have to cut it off when your ready to use the boat.
