Can you help me estimate cost of adding a room with a basement to our manufactured home?
Question:Would be approximately 12x14, would want to move current sliding doors to new room and use the opening left by their removal as doorway from original home. Dry wall, insulation, electrical, lighting, 2 additional windows, main floor would probably be carpeted in a berber. Basement will need stairs from addition and we would like to be able to paint walls and put down an area rug maybe but no drywall or carpet needed. Exterior is vinyl siding and roof is plain shingles. Nothing fancy, just want a game room upstairs and a place to go when it storms downstairs. Would possible move furnace & hot water heater to basement area if that is possible. Could do interior painting ourselves. We live in a rural area of central Illinois so do not have to deal with city restrictions or permits. Would we need a sump pump?

This is a question for a pro
Go to http://www.businessbusinesscontractors.c... and click on any of the links to find local contractors that can give you some professional advise.
figure in about $87.50 a sq. ft. and that'll get you real close.
You could call a contractor and they could give you an estimate.
That's going to be a big job and costly in my opinion !!
I dont know your counties' rules but yes you shold get a permit before any cunstructions also
for your area rug you can choose from thousands at nilimarugs.com
I would check for permits or restrictions due to your home insurance policy. It may not cover any issues that could come up when adding a room and basement (meaning foundation problems, sewer or septic tank, etc)
get different contractors with estimates something like that is hard to figure unless you see it and figure out what types of materials you are going to use.
