You could slash the paper like one person suggested, but you really have to be careful because you could cut too deep, and besides, that sounds like waay too much work to me having to make so many slashes.
To me, the "easy" way would be to go to Walmart and pick up an item called a Paper Tiger, This gizmo had razors built into it and all you have to do is move it all over the walls in a circular pattern. Remember, the more openings you have in the paper for wallpaper remover to work, the better. Now that you have perforated the painted paper, I would take a bucket of very warm water with a small amount of liquid fabric softener added and sponge this over the walls. Just don't get too carried away and get water puddling on the floors...this job will be messy enough, so you really don't want to add more to your task! Then go take a 15 minute break. The biggest mistake people make is not giving the chemicals enough time to work. Then come back from your break and see if any areas are loosened. Remove what will come off easily, and repeat the other steps to the stuff that won't play. The paper should come off, but you can also use the steam from your iron, just don't put your iron directly on the wall, just let it "hover" close to the wall over the stubborn areas while you gently lift the paper off.
Good luck, and I hope this helped you.
You have to score the paper diagonally then use a sponge and water if you dont have a steamer.
I do not envy you. I would check out Home Depot or Lowes for some sort of chemical to help out with this. They may also have a steamer you could rent.
with your mind youl be able to remove it:)
scour the paper with the edge of your scraper and then sponge hot soapy water on it , it should help to let you get behind the paper and start scraping !!
Put plenty plastic covering on the floor. With a sponge and hot water , soak the wall. Then use a wall paper scraper , and scrape ,
u can buy a tool thats like a roller but has sharp spikes on it so it perforates the wallpaper, which will allow for soapy water to absorb into the surface.stanly knifes are ok but they sometimes leave galges on the surface behind.then just get a wallpaper stripper and away you go...
The easiest by far is with a steamer. Ask your friends or family if they have one to loan you if not you can hire them for less than £10 a day.
Allow the steam to take the hard work out of it, remember scrap with a good sharp scraper and dont dig into the plaster underneath. Good luck
