Best type of faux painting for covering blemishes on walls?
Question:I covered some paneling in my house with compound (In Order: kilz, drywall compound, sanding, drywall compound, sanding, kilz, then paint) and it looked great, just like drywall, until the afternoon sun came through the windows and hit it. Then I could see all the blemishes from where I didn't sand the compound enough or where I didn't put enough compound. Instead of starting over and putting more compound we were thinking about faux. Is there a type of fauxing that does well covering up blemishes on the wall?

First off, I highly suggest that you seek hands on classes in your area, they are the way to go! Classes will eliminate you having to find the right products for the techniques you want to use not to mention teach you the RIGHT way to do the techniques.
Some techniques that you can do to cover up blemishes are italian plasters such as italian skiptrowel, marmorino, florentine or any heavy plastered technique.
stay away from : single glazes and venetian plasters..they will show the imperfections in your wall because of the sheen they produce.
Sponging is the easiest decorative finish to master. You can sponge with paint or tinted glaze on a color base.
