How much would a decent bathroom cost?
Question:its a small bathroom, and i've bugeted £1500, for the suite, tiles and flooring. what could i get for that?
Answers:
If you want good quality and fitting then between £2,500 - 3,000 complete job.
You could get it done for less if you do some of the wrok yourself or get different trades in to do plastering tiling etc. My advice go for the dearer option as the work would be complete and a finished job.
12 Months down the line we are still trying to finish the tiling etc. Not funny when you have a full time job to go to each day.
Though at the end of the day if you are prepared for the job to linger longer then go for the cheaper option.
All the best
I sourced Bathroom online and had the plumber to fit etc, however, tradesmen get a better deal so bare that in mind when considering your options.
depends on whether you're wanting them to fit it as well. I have a small bathroom (think the length of a bath squared), and we were quoted £6k by one company. Needless to say we did not go with them! We ended up buying the suite online (ebay shop) and got someone to fit it. If you do this, make sure you get someone who knows exactly what their doing because they made a right mess of our bathroom.
Total cost in the end was about £3k.
We did our bathroom (approx 6'6'' x 6') for about £700 including 3 piece suite, 3 fully tiled walls, power shower (incl pump), lino, shelving, wallpaper & special bathroom paint.
Luckily we could do it all ourselves. Its the labour that bumps up the price. Get a few quotes. Ask for references or ask local friends and family for referals. You can't beat good recommendations, unfortunately there are a few cowboys out there.
Dear Michelle'
Good Day to you! Your budget is good enough for a beatiful bathroom.
