How do I decorate my kitchen?
Question:I have just painted it "oats"(light tannish color) on top, "october red"(deep maroon) on the bottom, separated by a border of vintage fruit (black back ground with grapes, apples and pears) I have a lot of fruit decor but I can't figure out a good way to arrange things on the wall. I have a 10' long wall. I have a picture from home interiors that is made to look like a fruit basket painted on tiles. It is this picture that I got the colors for the walls. I have a set of plates that hangs on the wall..one has an apple, one with pears and the other grapes. I also have these 2 shelf thingys that look sort of like topiaries of fruit. But How do I decorate the wall with these things with out it looking tacky? or too busy? or too lame?
Answers:
I have my pics and items hung randomly on the wall and it looks great. My wall sounds similar. It is hard to explain...if you would like, I can email you a pic of the wall.

Place the plates in the center, along with the picture ( I would put them in a row on top of the painting) and the shelves can be on the sides or the painting, one on each side for symmetry.
i agree with blackholesunshine about the row of plates .for the middle plate i would raise it about 4 inches higher to create movement but that's just me
Hi,
Pal out just how you want it to look.
Once you have a clear idea, then go looking for tiles.
