I need some decorating help..?
Question:i am moving in with my friend to help him and me financially. He has an apartment with 1 big bedroom, 1 bathroom, kitchen, small dining area, and a just guessing about 15 feet by15 feet ft living room. now the living room is going to bacisally be my room and still be the living room. i am thinking about getting a futon so during the day a sofa and during the night my bed. anyway we have no type of imagination on how to set the up and make it look good. does anyone have any ideas on what we can do, how to set it up, any pictures or links that can give us some direction would be great!! Thanks alot for your input

I hope there's an IKEA store nearby...
Instead of a sofa bed, which can often be uncomfortable, buy a daybed or a plain, headboard-less bed that you can place some pillows and a throw on and call a sofa. Of course, a mattress is necessary, too.
Ikea has some inexpensive models

You're going to need storage, so if you don't have a piece of furniture for this, I suggest finding one, bigger than you think you need just in case you acquire more stuff later. When you have your own place for your things, you feel better about things, I have found.

Since the living room is a good size, you can put this off in the corner.
You can place your sofa/bed next to it.
You will also need a coffee table if you don't already have one for the living room- I recommend something with drawers for things, but you can buy some baskets or boxes for storage on the coffe table, as well.

Try experimenting with your new furniture and see where you feel it works best. I'm sure you have more imagination than you think!
If you're wondering about color, green is what I would recommend. I have it in my room and it's perfect for anything.
Not boring, but peaceful. A great color for a double-duty room.
