When painting, does the hours it takes for the paint to dry also mean?
Question:how long it takes for the fumes to go away? I am pregnant and my husband painted the nursery. I just need to make sure that the fumes are gone. it has been 10 hours since he painted. thanks

It all depends on what kind of paint you used... Latex fumes will go away very quickly if you air the room properly. If you have used oil paint, it can take weeks. You need to keep the room aired out by opening the window and using a fan to push the fumes out the window. If you can, buy a fan that sits in the window space to pull the air out of the room. You can also by a product that comes in a plastic container that you sit in the middle of the room and open. It will absorb the paint fumes. You can find this at your home hardware store in the paint department. This will cut down on the time... It's important that you don't breathe the fumes cause baby will too.
Congratualtions! Here's hoping you have a happy, healthy baby!
I think it really depends on how big the space is, how airy the surrounding area's are. the Temperature outside.
If I were you, I would open all the windows and put fans on to help the air circulate and not stay stagnant.
well it can take a couple days or up to a week. if you open a window or put a fan in the window and make the fan go out it will go away faster
Depending on the heat and humidity, the fumes could last a long time. Use a fan in an open window.
open the windows if u can ...meanwhile. put a bowl of white vinegar in the room... NEXT time u paint... use this & it will help w/ the fumes as u'r painting... but it should take the fumes away.
Depending on the type of paint... some r very strong... some not so... meanwhile...try the white vinegar...close the doors... if u want put a couple bowls.. it will absorb the fumes
