Would Sapele doors?

Question:look ok painted white, or would they just look like Sapele doors painted white?

Answers:
Crikey Pansy.potter, sapele doors eh! they take me back a bit, used to be the norm in most new houses.Either sapele veneer or sapele imitation paper coating. I think probably they would look like sapele doors, painted white, as you suggest. The in thing now appears to be the six panel "grained" white doors, and I have to say, for what they cost, £17/£18? they are pretty presentable, but of course they then have to be hung, ups the cost unless you're ok with DIY. If you keep the sapele,(assuming they are veneer and not paper finish) I'd be inclined to also keep the natural finish, lightly sand and varnish, easier than undercoat and gloss paint, better looking too.

WTF are sapele doors?
once painted...who could tell? For the answer above:
Sapele doors are a reddish brown coloured wooded door.
They would .look naff. Get yourself some new ones!
They would look like Sapele doors painted white.

Try re-varnishing if they are looking tired and boring - lightly sand the top coat (wire wool is best) and then varnish them again using a clear hard (Yacht) varnish - use a gloss roller to get a good finish - they can, if done right, look like new
i don't know sorry
Why not just try staining them? I you don't like the stain you could rub down the surface to give an antiqued look
