How do you tell interior door is left or right.?

Question:

Answers:
You determine the hand of a door this way: FROM the OUTSIDE, which side is the door hinge on? If it is on the right, it is a right handed door, if it is on the left, it is a left handed door.

Doors which opens outwards are known as reverse beveled doors. You determine the hand of these doors the same as above.

it depends on which side the door knob it on..if its on the right. its a left handed door. if its on the left. its a right handed door...
This is always a source of confusion for people. When selling doors, I always told people to stand on the inside of the door and pull the door towards them. If the hinges were on the left, it was a left hand door...if the hinges were on the right, it was a right hand door. I sold lots of both interior doors and exterior doors here in Alaska. I found out that the company I worked for did it backwards from what was commonly accepted in the lowere 48... So to eliminate confusion, I would bring your plans into your supplier and let them figure it out, or draw a picture of what you want the door to do. If you can go into Lowe's or Home Depot, pull a door out of the rack , and see if the swing is what you want.
Pathfinders answer is correct in every detail. I cannot imagine why somebody rated this as a bad answer.
