We are remodelling our kitchen and using antique white cabinetry should I opt for a dark benchtop?

Question:Kitchen is 3.6x4.2 and is open plan to dining and living.
Floor is a light brushbox timber.
Bench will run down two sides of the kitchen, one will incorporate the sink the other side will have the cooktop.
There will be an island.
The room receives plenty of natural light.

Answers:
I think the dark benchtop ...(countertop where I come from) would accentuate it beautifully.

Dark colors never go well in kitchens, they are supposed to be light and cheerful, despite natural light.
Who can say until you see it in person. But it sounds like a lot of contrast. Can you post a pic?
I would use a green color counter top
