There are several wallpaper removers you can purchase that are in spray bottles. You will need first to find out what kind of wallpaper you have on the wall, as well as what condition the wall is behind it (and don't be surprised if there is more than one layer of wallpaper).
If the wallpaper is intact, with a few little pieces, though, you might opt to paint over it instead. Remember to use primer paint to make sure the final paint will stick to the wallpaper, or re-wallpaper the walls.
There are several great websites (DIY.net, HGTV, etc) that show you how to do this, plus sometimes you might luck out and someone at the local Lowes, for example, could show you how to do this.
But start small, one room at a time.
You might want to try steaming off wallpaper. I've heard that works. I would paint the walls afterward.
u cat just paint over it. I beleave that they make scrapers 4 that kind of job. i think i white wall. with laminat floring will be good 4 a poker room.
Best way I have found to take off wallpaper is to steam it off. You can rent a steamer from a rental shop for the day for pretty cheep. I have used the bottle solutions and they work but are messy, smelly and not as well as steaming. You may have to perforate the paper depending if it is glossy or matt.
I would paint. Easier, cheaper, and if you want to change it up later, a lot less headache. You can always put up a border of wallpaper on paint if you want. Make sure you get all glue off the wall before painting, it will show through and then you have a mess.
Good Luck!
You can rent or buy a steamer machine from a store like home depot. First you steam the old wall paper and then you peel it off. whatever doesn't come off (and unfortunately there is always stubborn patches that it doesn't matter how much you steam won't easily come off) you have to use a "scraper". Little tool you can purchase at ahome depot store for like 15 bucks. I don't mind wallpaper at all, it depends on what the look is you are looking for. Restoration hardware has some really pretty wall paper designs with card room themes if that's what you are looking for. Painting however is a lot easier than installing wall paper yourself. And if you don't like the oucome, you can always paint it over.
Good luck!
