I love all these people who jump to conclusions. How about a few more facts.First off ,if it was a bearing wall it should have had a double top plate. If it is not a bearing wall you should have no problem if your house is of normal construction practices in the United States.

Double top plate = 2 boards laid on their side on top of the studs that make up the wall.

You should call your local building inspector let him come look at it.Just to be on the safe side.

NO!!!
What are you doing making all that noise at this time of night, think of the poor neighbours!

Lol!
Hubby say's no, but get expert advice
What was the wall made of ?? if breeze block you could be OK, if stud wall definitely OK, but if brick wall i would get advice especially as you didn't check so i don't suppose you checked whats above.. leave well alone and get it checked out..
im nt sure, sorry
Wanna buy a hard hat?
Hard to tell from you question, anyway if the joists are running parallel to the wall you've knocked down you should me ok if they were on the top of the wall you've knocked down, you're probably in trouble.

Type of construction isn't really a clue either supporting walls can be made of stone, brick, block or timber.

what distance are the joists covering now and what is the width & thickness of them
