Not really good at decorating,But my honest opinion I'm not really crazy about those curtains, Maybe mirror's not sure if that's old school, I'm sure whatever you pick will look great.

I'm not a fan of the curtains. Think you need to paint the walls too. White is too plain there for starters. Would try A series of square mirrors down one or both sides. Maybe a clock, not the best area for a clock based on pics though. Get "kitchen art." Stuff with cooks, or wine, or chickens? Small artwork that can be found in Wal-mart and Target, that can add just a touch of flavor.
You must add a mirror or two. The mirror will add light and make the room appear bigger than it is. This is your best solution!
You could hang a floral garland over the window. That really is a tight space and the window takes most of that up. You could get some mosaic tiles and hang on either side of the window. It just depends on what you're into and what kind of look you're going for. Good luck!!
i have a dining room area a little bigger then yours and mi family put a big mirror on one wall and 3 pictures in a nice arragement on the opposite wall. i would also paint and change the curtains. but those are just some ideas.
