there are some examples but those are the only ones i can find
how do you create this? i've heard the suggestion make a closet into the wall bed but what other ways could you? would it be a hard job? and does anyone know of any websites that show instructions? thanks
Answers:
take the doors and shelves out of the closet, close in the bottom part.
You may need a carpenter to do it.
you lose some floor space doing that -- the effect is nice but in reality it isn't practical. it is built like a deep window frame -- kind of like the boxed windows with seating underneath the window. closing in the bed space like that would make the rest of the room claustrophobic unless you had large rooms too -- you are cutting off at least 3 ft from the room (a twin bed is 39" wide). note the pictures look open and spacey because the rooms are huge -- use the 3 drawer dresser in the boys room for size reference.
closed in areas around the bed are great fun for kids but closing it off with strucurally would be a pain. when the kid is 14 they won't like it so much. stores like ikea and target usually have some things that would help if you get the right brain going.
