You should get like yellows, and oranges, and get funeture thats darker so it will go with the walls, im just like you, I love bright colors, my walls are done in lime green and orange, its very pretty!
A sandy type color. Or a light periwinkle blue would be good.

Watery colors, such as sea-greens, light blues and yellows could be really nice as paint and bedspread (the big, more permanent stuff). Accessorize with brighter colors beach type items-- shells, sand candles, colorful beach towels as wall art or curtains. Maybe even incorporate a little fish bowl.
you could probably go to micheals and buy shells, or other beachy stuff. paint them, or just glue them to other stuff to make it more beachy.
bed spread: Well i suggest you pick a color theme too. the beach is normally would be greenish blues, light blues, tans and natural colors, browns and stuff. But try one with cute colors combinations and something you think you'll like for awhile.
curtains-should be something long, but sorta see through, a light color. like a tan, or a light bluish green. then with the windows open, they'll blow in the wind and look like the ocean. Then you will feel like you are on a vacation.
other bed stuff- pillows you could get a lot of pillows for your bed. all different blues and greens so they all mesh together and put all on your bed..will look AMAZING!
a nice fan, would look nice. like a fan to have in your room year round, a ceiling fan or just one to put near your bed. get a cute one. like a blue one.
- for drawers you could put stuff like shells as the handle

We stayed at a friends beach place recently. They had painted the walls and ceiling matt white.
They also had wooden floors, wooden louvres on the windows, a cool surfboard shaped coffee table, Mediterranean blue chairs, blue floor rugs and linen. Lots of beach themed paintings and art on the walls.
It was very cool.
