Tips on decorating my walls w/ pictures, mirrors?

Believe it or not, if you can buy (or make) something like these mirrors -- I'm partial to the ones with 6-8 panels -- you can use & re-use them, no matter where you live (and how many times you move). I've had one for 10 yrs, and it always fits in, colored in distressed-white. Seriously, you can hang photos (and change them over time, unless they're very old), you can fret over frames & sizes of anything... but these mirrors do the trick. They can expand a room, and make it look like there's so much more depth -- and you can play with placement, angles, and how they reflect light/sunlight to other parts of rooms or halls. As a man, I'm only so excited about decorations & wall treatments, but you can't go wrong with something like these...
Here's an example of what I'm talking about:

Here is what I want to do with my bare walls at home...
Take small and medium picture frames (same color) and put fun pictures in them! randomly make a collage out of the frames and cluster them on the wall like its one big picture.
You should pick a wall and jsut cover it with frames and mirrors of different sizes and shapes to make a big interesting display. You don't need to match everything, or you could go with all mirrors or all pictures in frames, but just pay attention to whether each side is balanced. I think the bigger the variety the more fun it will be to look at.
A few ideas I've done:
1) I had a gorgeous spice red wall, on which I hung a whole bunch of old gold wooden frames I would at antique/thrift shops and garage sales. It's very dramatic, and I get tons of compliments on it.
2) I got a whole bunch of identical small black frames, and filled them with silloutee sketches I did of friends. They would be doing something - striking a pose, in a yoga position, reading, whatever suited them. Filled up a space by the entryway with these 'glimpses' of previous guests.
3) I like contrasts, so I've done collages where you either have the same color of frame (but all different shapes and sizes) with generally similiar photos (black and white works great) or all the same frame but a wide variety of photos. Something to help unify the grouping is important, otherwise it's just a mess of pictures.
4) Ikea does some fun things with small square or round mirrors with their frames painted black, just a whole bunch of them in tidy order looks really neat and modern.
pick the most attractive wall and make it the focal point. black frames are sophistacated. avoid being too matchy-matchy unless that's your thing
