Question:I'm redoing my office, and I need desk suggestions. Looking for unique functional ideas! I'm tired of big wooden desks. I have a 30" and 22" monitor (both VESA compatible) to work with. I also have a staff to manage, so I also need to see across the desk to talk with my staff and other folks.

Try using a unique door and place it on stylish low filing cabinets (the fancy wood kind) or get stair posts that you attach to the bottom at the four corners. You can paint the door however you want, the cord feeds through the hole where the door knob would be, and you can cut it to size. Then you put a piece of glass over it to make the surface functional and you can place memorabilia or pictures under the glass to look at while you work. I had friends who did this for a full size dining table. There's was an antique paneled wood door that they salvaged. You can find something usable at a salvage yard.
