I think it would look great - these handles are very modern and chic. Changing the knobs is a great way to update the kitchen without the expense of replacing all the cabinets - and you can express your personal style by choosing the handles you like!
If you are replacing more traditional handles, you may have to fill the original holes - which may mean painting the whole door front to cover the fill. We painted our ageing oak cabinets three years ago with an oil-based Benjamin Moore paint, and they still look fresh with no chips or scratches.
If you are still unsure, why not bring home one of the handles you like, and see how it looks in your kitchen. You can add accessories to match - such as stainless steel appliances (kettle & toaster, if the budget doesn't stretch to replacing large appliances).
You can do whatever you want. The style of the handle however should coordinate with the style of your kitchen, country, contemporary, etc. We are building a new home and the trend now is to do handles for drawers and knobs for doors but as you can see from your site, you can do whatever suits you.
