What words can precede MOTIF? Should be interesting in design and (possibly) history?

Question:How might a theatre's interior design be described. For examples:
...a 17th Century motif

...a Victorian motif

What's colorful in both design and (perhaps) history?

Answers:
How about an art nouveau motif? For more on art nouveau, click below.

Other possibilities are Art Deco, French Country, and Arts and Crafts motifs.

Hope that helps! I'm a big fan of art nouveau, personally.

How about Knights of the Round table/King Arthur motif? Shakespearean? Vaudevillian?
Motif is a noun. So, obviously, the words that should precede it should be any combination of adjectives. :)
Silk Road motif
