Should i put doorstop on the door or on the wall next to door?

The wall, definitely!
Baseboard is best if you`re using the springy post type.
I personally would`nt recomend the hinge type, they cause to much damage to the door and the molding.
usually placing it on the wall ( stud) makes it less likely to push through the wall.
It generally works best if you put the doorstop on the baseboard molding.
I think you should put it on the wall. If you put the doorstop on the door then the wall will get damaged(Yeah I know the door might get damaged if you put it ont he wall lol)I usually see doorstops on walls instead of the doors.
you can also purchase a half ball and attach it to your floor...it does not matter if if is carpeted or not. worked great for me.
I don't pretend to be an expert in this area but I prefer the type that mount to the floor. Second choice would be the type that mounts to the wall and contacts the door knob. That way neither the door nor the wall is taking any abuse. However these type can look sort of commercial, not homey in appearance, unless you can find a nice brass or other decorative one. Hinge pin types that mount to the, what else, the hinge pin, I think are a good choice also. Small, not really noticed, not screwing holes into drywall, floor, or baseboard, and easy to install.
I was gonna answer but Scott pretty much said it all..I'd go with what he said!! happy door stopping!!
It usually goes on the wall
it doesn't really matter but i personally think it looks better on the wall
