How do you renew your kitchen cabinets?

Answers:
If you want to stain them, you will have to strip them or sand them down to the wood grain. If you are just going to paint over them (more choices in color) then you can lightly sand, clean, then prime them. Also, adding different pulls and handles will give them a more updated look. You could also try adding some decorative trims to add interest to the doors.
There are also ways (though I don't know how) that you can add glass to the centers of some cabinet doors.
Otherwise, you can just get new doors and drawer fronts in a style that suits you best. This is called refacing and many places like Sears, Lowe's, etc have services for that. It is cheaper than replacing the entire cabinet sytem, but more costly than paint and hardware.

a good paint job can do wonders or you can strip them and restain them. Even better replace all the cabinet doors for a real facelift!
