I've had my noce tiles installed on the backsplash. Do I need a final sealer?
Question:The carpenter says it's not required. Apparently there is a newer grout that does not require sealer. Should I seal anyway? This way I'd be sure. Any suggestions?
Answers:
As a kitchen professional, I would recommend sealing the grout.
The kitchen counter sees all kinds of abuse, grease, smoke, splashes, spills, wet cloths, sometimes even fires. Sealing your groutlines costs almost nothing, anyone can do it. I've seen the sealerless grout, have a kid spill a glass of koolaid on it and see what good it is then.
Seal it. You spend 20 grand on a kitchen, why skimp on the last 5 bucks. Do it every 4 months. Your grout will always look clean and new.
You should get the name of the product and Google it to get the Manufacturers Specifications, Recommendations and Warranty notes.
