Can anyone help me?
Question:the thing is i went away on holiday a few weeks ago and i had a leak at home, don't know how cause switched the water off before we went away, so i have know idea how it happened. but the reason why i am asking for is help is because the celling didn't cave in thank god but were the water came through it has left a awful brown stain on the white celling.. we have re-painted it 4 times now and it is still seeable. we have also used stain sealer and that hasn't worked! does anyone have any ideas/tips to get rid of that awful brown stain PLEASE!

Clean with liquid bleach than paint with Kilz, than paint again with whatever paint you want to use on top of the Kilz. Kilz comes in two kinds of formulas-- the water based formula is less smelly-- but the original, oil based formula is more effective. Wear a mask! You don't want to inhale either the mold or the bleach. If that doesn't work, you can cut out the stain, replace the sheetrock, patch the hole and then repaint.

Probably would be cheaper changing the ceiling.
Have you checked with a home improvement center for advice?
Use Kilz that can be purchased from Lowes or Walmart stores.
It blocks the stain and then you paint over it and capiche!! Presto...new ceiling.
The sheetrock was ruined with the water and needs to be removed and replaced and then you can treat and paint.
Go to any hardware store and get a product called "Kilz"...it will cover any stain...it's made just for that purpose.. they also have a 'paint' that destroys odors, and I mean ANY odor..Kilz is the ONLY thing that will get rid of that brown stain!!
