Question:something either tropical or retro

Answers:
What is your budget like? Since she will probably not more grown up bedding in a few years you won't want to spend a fortune. Try places like Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Gordmans, Homegoods, etc. They have name brand stuff for CHEAP! You can also try:

Ok- she's 14 - you have probably, what, 4 more years before she moves out or to college. And then you're stuck with something that a 14 year old would like.

Why not get her something you can use in a guest bedroom when she leaves home? She's a big girl anyway - give her big girl furniture. God - I would have traded my princess bedroom suite I'd had until I was a senior in HS for an adult looking bedroom suite.
Overstock.com has some really classy furniture and it is all really well made and functional. I found my sleigh be at Oak Express for $2300 and got it at overstock for $769 plus I got it on fre shipping weekend (regular shipping is like $3). Now that's a deal.
Pottery Barn Teen is a very very good place to buy furniture.
You can request a catalogue or shop online.
