What colour should i do?
Question:I want to paint my living room walls. Can't decide what colour to paint. My sofa set is hunter green with black lines here and there. My carpet is grey. Right now the walls are white but i want some colour. The blinds are hunter green. anyone have an idea.
Answers:
Take pieces of swatches from the carpet, sofa and the blind if you can with you to a paint store, most of these have people who can help. I would say a slight hint of grey, 'cause you don't want too many colors everywhere, you want to tie it all in and together. Unless you want to hire a decorator. The paint store can customize the color for you based on what you bring and most importantly your taste. It sounds like you know what you are doing. otherwise, how did you come up with grey carpet and hunter green sofa set. The question is do you want to blend or the walls to stand out?
I can't think of the perfect color to be honest maybe white with the slightest grey tint? You want the color lighter for the most part because you don't want to darken the room you could consider doing light on 3 walls and maybe hunter on the wall opposite the furniture that might be nice. The grey kinda throws me I would have to see it I guess.
pale straw then color wash that with beige. the result will be non-vibrant yellow but still light. gray and yellow work together i think. whatever you choose i wish you guys good luck
I think that you have enough green so maybe if you find a grey to match your carpet that would work.
how about mint green, or a neutral colour, like cream
Go with a light green it will match a lot of your stuff in a subtle way gold goes with everything and looks really cool and fancy!
pale grey would match the carpet and make the sofa stand out and be noticed. try crisp white trim, ceiling, doors. use silver or stainless metals (instead or brass or gold) to give a sleek, modern feel.
I also like a warm tan or taupe color with hunter green. again, white trim and the silver accents go well with this.
i had hunter green furniture at one time. i think the cream would be the best. if you go light green think of changing it out if you change your furniture color.
the best i can tell u is try this site...
http://www.sherwinwilliams.com u can chg the couch in the color visualizer & then paint u'r walls... do the trim in u'r grey or one wall so it would resemble u'r carpet then try out the other wall & colors.
There r a lot that would make it pop or b soothing.
