Did I use enough primer, or are the marks on my wall never coming off?
Question:I have crayon, marker, pen, and God knows what else on my walls. The paint didn't cover it so I used a primer that claimed to cover up these markings. The gallon says nothing about two coats, or coating until you can no longer see the marks, it just says for full effectiveness apply and wait 4 hours to paint. Now I have applied the primer and I still see near all of the marks, will the primer stop the colors from being seen, or did this product really not work?
Answers:
Some times it takes more than one coat. Even Kilz.
I had one place with PURPLE paint. It took 4 coats of one coat $25 a gallon primer!
What was the primer? Try Kilz. its in a white can with red lettering. comes either roll, brush, or spray on. you can get it at home depot, or lowes. does real good.
You should keep repainting the wall with primer until all the marks are gone, Even if it takes five coat's. If the marks are bleeding Thu the primer they will definitely be seen Thu the paint. Or you can try to sand the marks out. Both way's should work.
The primer should prevent you from seeing the marks. You probably need another coat but make sure you stir the primer well before you use it
