Good wood refinishing product for old cabinets?

Question:Im doing a kitchen remodel and am trying to keep it on the cheap a little bit. I loathe the idea of painted cabinets. I did it once and wasn't pleased wiht the "fake" look they had.

What would be a good system (incuding products) to strip and refinish darker cabinets to a lighter finish?

Answers:
The best products for removing a stain or varnish are BIX and Formby's. Once you have stripped the old stain you can stain with any color you desire. Bix is mainly used for paints and formby's is used for stains. Steel wool and one of those cleaners will strip it all use gloves and a mask cause they BURN if they get on your hands.
