I want to paint a big joker face grinning in the center of my room, is this a bad idea?

Here is a safe option for you. Go to Michaels, JoAnn Fabrics or some art supply store. Get a LARGE canvas, or even two large canvases, and paint your design on your canvas. You can then hang it on the wall. You'll be able to have your art without lowering the value of the home and best of all, you can take it with you.
