Patio decking?

Question:Hi, I am looking for some advice re patio decking.. at the back of my garden it goes to a kind of slant.. It isnt that bad but is noticeable.. I would like to level it off with decking but not sure the best way to do this.. Would I have to level the ground 1st and then build the decking on top or is there a way that I can build on the slant??

Also does anyone know what kind of weight it could take? I was thinking on putting my childrens 8ft trampoline on top of it.. It would be pretty big.. I dont have the much of a big garden and the back would be the ideal place to put the trampoline to give the kids more place to play.

Thanks in advance

Sweet! Decking should be elevated to stop rot. Concrete short posts( treated) into the ground to fix level framework to, then deck frame. posts will level slope out but go to a reputable timber yard for detailed advice. Email mykrobo@yahoo.co.uk and chat it over if you wish. Alternatively speak to any groundworker/gardener/landscap... you see working and befriend them!

Decking can be built to disguise a sloping garden. My next door neighbour has a sauna on their deck so provided the construction is robust enough a trampoline shouldn't be a problem.
that is not a difficult task when you make the base make sure you have got a good spirit level and make the lower side higher a trampoline won't be a problem as long as the base is done with strong timbers
The ground won't need to be leveled. Alot of decks are built in mountainous areas to give homeowners the ability to enjoy the outdoors on sloping ground.

Usually, the structural part of your deck that needs to be the strongest is the posts in the ground. Many people use footers (concrete in the ground) to secure the posts. There are lots of footers, from pouring concrete with the posts in them to anchors that you can strap the bottom of the post to. Personally, we prefer the poured concrete in the ground. Check your local building codes if you plan to do it this way as some areas require a permit before concrete can be poured. In either case, the weight of the trampoline should be fine.

Good luck.
Pack the low side up on bricks/cement or similar to be the same level as the high side. Put them on a membrane to stop contacting the ground and make certain the timber has been rot proofed.
