if you can measure the floor by length and width put together, you should get the exact area of the floor.
Multiply the width by the length. In your case first room - 266 square feet. The second is 224 square feet. If you are ordering carpet divide by 9 and you get square yards, dont forget to round up not down. Carpet is tricky though, because most come in 12' widths. If you want to carpet these floors the carpet has to be seamed. With carpet you seam in the same direction so it looks the same. So for your first room you would need to sections of carpet 12' wide and 14' long, the first would be full width with the second being cut to 7' wide to make the 19'. So your first room would need 37.33 square yards of carpet with nearly 8 yards of waste. If you do tile or hardwood use your square footage and add 10% for waste.
