I'm going to paint a feature room in my bedroom, what colour should the other walls be?
Question:i want to paint a feature wall a bright colour, maybe a blue or green but im not sure what colour to do the other walls. My mum suggested white for a crisp look, but im worried it will look too sterile, what do you guys think? I still havent even decided what colour my feature wall will be so any suggestions for that will be appreciated also. Thank you everyone!

I think your mums right, anything too bright on the other walls May clash or take attention away from the feature wall - I would do a pale version of the main colour of the feature (i.e. a pale green or blue) or a creamy off white type colour - that way the whole room will look fresh clean and modern - and the attention will be on the feature.
too much brightness all around the room will just give people a headache!
PINK
Normaly when you paint one wall a bright colour the other walls are a similar toned down colour. (both green for example).
~or~
What you could do is after you decide on a colour find a patterned wallpaper you like, that compliments that colour and wallpaper the wall that you want to make a feature of. When its done properly it looks good.
go for an off white or pale cream!
do not go for bright white - it will not look right!
R all u'r walls white rt. now? Do all u'r walls blue & green. U can paint stipes, things like that OR paint 3 walls a shade of different color of blue or green THEN the FEATURE wall.. paint it the opposite color. U can even faux finish it. Sponge it... wash it... rag it... criss crose brush it or roller it.stripes.w/ the roller or brush., squares.. Or jst that wall & leave u'r others walls white. Make it the wall that when u walk into u'r room it's either 1 of the 2 walls that u would c. If u do purples r going well today w/ blues & greens... OR u can do all 4 walls different shades of blues or greens.
have fun w/ it... if u don't like it, paint over it. Get some samples of colors from the hardware store.. u can either use samples.. ( get a few & tape them together or get a sample paint & paint u'r walls w/ square or rect... c how it changes thru out the day from the different lights.. then pick what u want to use. If u have something in u'r bedding, curtains , rugs/pillows that u like.. color-wise.. go for that. Even a stuffed animal or favorite clothing.
Hope this helps
You could do the other walls in a paler shade of the feature wall, or a white with a hint of whatever colour you choose.
The other walls should be a neutral color. Especially those from beige-brown family.
ok all you need to do is give me the colour of your feature wall...ill give you say 4 or 5 ones to go with it ...easy .try me
