Is it possible to glue a new shower surround to the wall without taking down the old surround?

Question:have a house with lathe and plaster and don't want to get into ripping off the old surround and having to install sheetrock or patch the old wall.

Answers:
what is wrong with the old one? You could but it wouldnt be good, that could lead to mildew and all that,

Its best to bite the bullet and do it the right way with this one.

Wouldnt it be nice to have it clean? If you install over the old you are covering up not cleaning up the mess...If you rip out the old and put in insulation plus the new wallboards you may not have to deal with it again...You are talking about three sheets of wallboard...
A company called Rebath does that exact thing.
