What colors do I use?

Question:I love the look of the Olive Garden Restaraunts and would love to paint my bathroom and bedroom like that. What colors should I use and what technique?

Answers:
I haven't been there in a while, but I believe they have a Tuscan look with a ragging off technique. I had something similar done in my own kitchen by a painter who specialized in faux finishes. (It wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be either!) The base coat was actually a beige-y color and the color that was ragged off was a yellow glaze. The glaze was important because it gave them so much time to work with the paint. I did mine like 10 years ago, it still looks good and I still love it.

If you are going to do it yourself, I would practice on some sample boards before doing it on the wall directly - just so you get the feel and look that you want.
