Can you use acrylic paint with a coat of polyurethane on stainless steel? ie: Toilet Paper Holder?

Question:

Answers:
Acrylic no, you need an oil based paint, look at the metal specific ones in the spray cans. You will need to prime the metal first or any paint that you use will just scratch off. Dont worry about the poly, thats mostly use for sealing stains on woods and adding a shiney top coat.

Yes. Get Rustoleum paint. It's meant for metal. Forget the poly,. It's not necessary.
Metals and aluminums can hold special paints but painting stainless steel, I'm not quite sure. There should be a more technical way in doing it otherwise, it'll just scrape off easily.
michael's sells a metal primer. you can paint anything on metal if you spray it with that primer first. I'm sure home depot and lowes sells the primer too, but I know i've seen it at michael's.
