Fixing squeaky floors is not difficult to complete.
The reason that your floors squeak is that two pieces of wood are rubbing together. Concrete slabs to not generally squeak, they disintegrate. You simply need to fill the gap between these two pieces of wood.
If you are on the second-floor you may need to learn to live with what you have. The reasons will become more apparent as you read further.
First you need to identify where the squeak is. Identify the location of the squeak relative to some external point on your home. Measure off on X and Y coordinates. Your measurement need not be exact as you will be using an area of about 1 to 1.5 ft. square. Note these coordinates for later use.
If you have carpet and if the squeak is near the edge of the room, you can pull the carpet back to access the area you need to work on, otherwise you'll need to crawl under the home.
Going under the home and locate the area that you measured for earlier. You will need to remove the insulation from the area that you're going to work on. You want to drill some holes about 1/4 to 3/8 in. in diameter into the underside of the floor. These holes should be no more than 3/4 inch deep. Drill holes in a grid pattern that are approximately 3 in. by 3 in. over 1 to 1 1/2 foot square area.
Now we're going to insert some type of filler in between the two sheets of plywood for have just accessed by drilling holes in the wood. I prefer to use a high strength glue as it's not likely to come apart again. My preference is for Liquid Nails, but if you wanted to you could use a rubber silicone caulking. Inject this material into holes until it squirts out the surrounding holes.
Try not to walk on the area for about 24 to 48 hours. This will allow the injected material time to cure.
God bless
