Bedroom makeover?
Question:I moved into my new room 3 years ago. I painted it purple and got a new bed and i LOVE my bed but HATE everything else. My computer is in my room which takes up alot of room. My room is small and its hard to rearange the furniture because I have windows and 2 doors on 3 of my walls. I was thinking about more bright colors for my room and putting a hard wood floor in. What else can I do...

Your bedroom configuration sounds exactly like my daughter's room. And it is nearly impossible to rearrange the furniture.
We removed the carpet & finished the wooden floor and that "opened up" the room to a certain extent.
What will make the room feel larger is fewer bright colors. Think cool & calm colors. Simplify & declutter as much as you can. "Stuff" sitting around gives one the feeling of a closed in small space.
In the case of a too-small room, the old adage really is true: "More with Less".

change the fabric of everthing!
You should probiably put the computer in another room and rearange your furniture.It will look better and it will also look ten times bigger.

Use shelves there are some that stand on the wall. Put the computer next to the bed usually in a corner. Use light colors they make the room look biger. Put small pictures or frames on the wall avoid mirrors. Hang something from the ceilling. use light color curtains with patterns. Use lights that are bright and add a fan if you dont have one. Remeber that you want to gradually do things that way it goes with your moods and your likes and dislikes. Always keep an open mind for future changes. Little changes usually make the most difference.
If you go with hard wood I would go with a light color.. maybe pine or a birch color..
Changing the curtians helps too..
maybe add some bright colored accent pillows or some art work to compliment..
I have purple walls too and had to do some minor changes too.. Try the colored light bulbs also.. I went with the pink ones... it gives it a suttle glow.. GL
