I have dark green furniture and a black bedspread, what color should I paint the walls?
Question:I have a big dark green chouch and chair with a huge footrest. Then I have a bunk bed with a twin bed on top and a full on the bottom with a black bedspread and tan pillows (pillows can turn over and be black too), what color should I paint my walls? The room is pretty big too. The color of the carpet is a very light tan.
Answers:
A nice warm gold or warm light brown would go nicely with the green and black that you've already got going on. They are also neutral enough that if down the line you change your couch or bedspread colors that they will go with a great deal of different colors.
If you need to fill in cracks, etc. remember to use a primer or you will get shiny patches on your wall when your paint dries (as the patching compound will soak in the paint in a strange way). Also a semi gloss will give you a slight shine where as a flat will give you no shine at all.
If you are willing to do a "test" patch on your wall, purchase a small container of paint in the color that you think you will like and paint an area on your wall that is approx. 2 to 3 feet in height and width. Let it dry and see how the paint looks in all kinds of light (natural and lamp) etc. and live with it for a few days before deciding if you like it. Paint places may have "tester" pots available for a small cost. Other wise you may have to purchase a quart of paint.
But keep in mind that if you do not like the color on your walls, you might like the color for some other craft or home improvement project (shelves, etc.) so you may find another use for your tester later on.
paint the walls copper or burnt orange.
A nice creamy yellow
maybe stick with a tan color being that you have dark furnishings you dont want to much darkness and the tan or biege with bring out the color balance with the pillows
Copper
burnt orange
Tie dye~!!!!!!!
paint two walls black and two walls green
I would stay with a matte eggshell since you don't want the walls to fight with the other colors. Light green is too close to the tan and not edgy enough for all that black. Charcoal is edgy, but then it would fight with the dark green...
Cream color
i would do the biggest wall a textured gold and for the remaining walls a gold satin finish
